The dual sim device of Samsung can now benefit from an official update to version 4.0.4 of the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The update probably was available through Samsung Kies and you missed it. That’s why we offer you this tutorial that will guide you through the steps of installing update XXALI7 on you S7562 device via Odin.
First of all, one of the best things about this update is that it is official, so you do NOT need to root your device nor to install ClockworkMod Recovery.

If you are sure your device is the S7562 and you understood that once you flash this update you will lose the root if you performed one, you can start following the steps:
Step 1: First download the XXALI7 Update and Odin.
Step 2: Turn off the device. Enter Download Mode ( Hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously)
Step 3: Start Odin. Connect the device to the USB port od the computer.
Step 4: Extract the files from the .zip downloaded at step 1.
Step 5: On Odin, click on PDA. Select the .tar file that you extracted from the archive. It should have ‘CODE’ in its name. Press START.
Step 6: Wait a few minutes until the update is installed. After that wait a few minutes for the phone to reboot.
If you followed the steps precisely, then you should now have Android 4.0.4 installed on your Galaxy S Duos. If during the update installation the phone gets stuck, remove the battery and restart the entire process. Sometimes this happens.
