As the latest flagship device from Samsung, the new Galaxy S IV, was revealed at an unpack event in New York on 14th March, also do a lot of questions about the device arise. All the attention is focused on the fact that Galaxy S4 will come out in two variants, one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset and one with the Exynos 5 Octa CPU. Everybody is asking why did Samsung take the decision to make the Galaxy S4 with 2 processors and not in only one variant.

The answer to that can be very simple. Both processors are new, so maybe production was an issue and so that Samsung to be able to provide enough units to supply the high demand on the market they will need two types of processors. Now there is the speculation that the Snapdragon 600 will be installed in the US units and the Samsung Exynos 5 in the International version. However this isn’t sure yet as other countries such as Germany could get the Snapdragon. The people complain about the fact that Exynos 5 Octa is a better processor than the Snapdragon and everybody wants to get the best out of the ‘big’ Galaxy S4. So until we will know for sure there will be a lot of questioning about this.

NEW – Update - It seems that countries where LTE is available will get the Snapdragon 600 version and countries without LTE will get the Exynos version.

What’s the difference between Galaxy S4 I9500 and I9505?

The other thing that needs to be clarified is whether there will be a Galaxy S4 I9305 model or not. Usually this version number is reserved for the LTE variant of the device. I recently discovered that on the Sammobile page for phone comparisons, the Galaxy S4 I9505 is noted as the LTE version of the device, but also as the device equipped with the Snapdragon 600 chipset. This means that Galaxy S4 I9500 will be equipped with the Exynos 5 chipset. TheExynos 8 core CPU is not ready yet to support LTE so that’s why there are two Galaxy S4 versions and the two processors.
